Overview


The ISREF function in Excel is a useful tool for checking if a specified value is a reference or not.

An example of the ISREF function in Excel

Example:

=ISREF(C2)

Syntax:

=ISREF(value)

value: This is the value or reference to the cell or expression you want to check for being a reference.


TRUE Example


In this example, the ISREF function gives us a TRUE value result because C2 is a reference.
