MONTH Function - SQL
Overview
The MONTH function in SQL extracts the month part from a date. It is useful for retrieving the month component of a date.
Example:
SELECT
MONTH(2022-09-14)
Syntax:
SELECT
MONTH(date)
date
is the date from which you want to extract the month.

Example: Hard-coded value
In this example, we are returning the month for the date ‘2022-09-14,’ the final output is 9.
Example: Query without the WHERE Statement
In this example, we are returning the month for all of the rows in the birthday column.
Example: Query with the WHERE Statement
In this example, we are returning the month for the rows in the birthday column where the first_name column equals ‘Kelly.’
